Built Foundation upper body
Built Foundation Upper Body is a program where you gradually increase the weights over several weeks to build general strength throughout the entire upper body. The workload starts relatively easy and increases linearly. The idea is to give you the opportunity to establish solid movement patterns in all exercises, so you can safely and effectively challenge yourself more and feel increasingly confident as the program progresses.
The program is well suited for two main groups of lifters.
The first group is those who have already focused heavily on bench press but are lacking in general upper-body strength. Training too specifically for too long can cause the rest of the upper body to fall behind, which often leads to stalled progress or even injuries.
The second group is lifters who come from a more general strength-training background and want to transition into bench-specific training with a strong foundation. Before moving into a more demanding, bench-focused program such as 10×10 by JE or Junk Volume Kings & Queens, this can serve as an ideal starting point.
